Our cancellation policy exists to safeguard everyone on the Catalani Locations platform during unexpected events. We understand that sometimes productions need to cancel β€” our goal is to ensure it is safe and fair for everybody involved.

How to identify which policy applies: The cancellation policy type is determined by the location/host and is prominently displayed on each listing. The cancellation process will be clearly outlined when booking. Cancellation fees only apply once a booking request has been accepted by the host.

Extenuating Circumstances

Catalani Locations may choose to pardon a cancellation due to extenuating circumstances, which would result in a partial or full refund of the booking. Below are the circumstances in which Catalani Locations may choose to grant a pardon:

Another member of the production team booked the same location simultaneously.

Natural disaster or severe weather conditions triggering a state of emergency that prevent use of or travel to the location.

Serious injury that directly prevents either party from participating in the booking.

Unexpected death or serious illness of a location owner, producer, or immediate family member of either party.

Maintenance issues or damage to the location that prevents the safe use of the space.

Government security advisories, travel restrictions, or court/municipal orders preventing use of the location.

A court or municipal order that legally prevents the use of a location.

Any other circumstances deemed appropriate by Catalani Locations at their sole discretion.

Catalani Locations β€” Initiated Cancellations

Catalani Locations can decide, at any point in the process, that it is necessary or appropriate to cancel an accepted booking. During an initiated cancellation, refunds and payouts will be at the discretion of Catalani Locations and may vary depending on the circumstances. Below are circumstances in which Catalani Locations may initiate a cancellation:

  • If Catalani Locations discovers that the production has pornographic or inappropriate content.
  • If a producer or location owner breaks Catalani Locations’ Terms of Service or Community Code of Conduct.
  • Inability to provide production insurance or payment within the deadline set by Catalani Locations.
  • If Catalani Locations suspects illegal activity of any kind.
  • If the production company or brand is unverified or fraudulent.
  • If the location becomes unavailable after the booking request has been accepted.
  • Any other circumstances deemed appropriate by Catalani Locations.
Rain Dates

Rain Date Policy

A rain date is a backup production day that both the producer and location owner agree upon in advance, held tentatively in case weather conditions prevent the original shoot from taking place. Rain dates are arranged directly between both parties before the scheduled production date.

Catalani Locations must be notified of any agreed-upon rain dates at least 24 hours prior to the original shoot date. Failure to notify us in time may affect your ability to use the rain date without penalty.

No rescheduling or cancellation fees apply when a previously agreed-upon rain date is used. As long as the rain date was communicated to Catalani Locations with proper notice, the shoot may proceed on that date at no additional cost.
Rescheduling

Rescheduling Policy

Producers may reschedule a confirmed booking, provided all of the following conditions are met. If any of these conditions are not satisfied, the booking will be treated as a cancellation and the applicable cancellation policy will apply.

All 3 conditions must be met

A new production date has been mutually agreed upon by both the producer and the location owner before submitting the rescheduling request.

The new date must fall within 90 days of the original production date. Rescheduling to a date beyond 90 days will not be honored under this policy.

Catalani Locations must be notified of the new production date within 48 hours of the original cancellation notice.
Incremental Rescheduling Fees

Each time a booking is rescheduled, a rescheduling fee applies. This fee increases by $100 with every subsequent reschedule and is collected as a separate payment added directly to the location owner’s payout. There is no cap on the number of reschedules, and fees accumulate accordingly.

Fees continue to increase by $100 increments with no maximum limit. Each fee is collected separately and paid out to the location owner.
