Community Guidelines
The standards every Host, Renter, Co-Host, and Scout agrees to when using the Platform — our commitment to a professional, safe, and honest community.
Your listing is your word. Every detail — photos, description, amenities, capacity, pricing, and availability — must accurately reflect the actual current state of your space. Clients and production companies make serious planning decisions based on your listing. Misrepresentation wastes their time, damages your reputation, and violates these Guidelines.
- Use current, professional photos that accurately show the space
- List all amenities that are genuinely included in the hourly rate
- Clearly disclose any restrictions (no open flame, no wet sets, etc.)
- Keep your calendar availability accurate and up to date
- List any add-on fees separately and transparently
- Disclose if you are not the property owner and confirm your right to list
- Use photos from a different property or a past state of the space
- List amenities you cannot reliably provide at time of booking
- Advertise a capacity that exceeds what the space can safely hold
- Hide fees, requirements, or restrictions that would affect a Renter’s decision
- List a space you do not have the legal right to rent out
- Offer a rate that is higher than your rate on any other platform
Every location on Catalani Locations is someone’s home, business, or livelihood. Renters, crew members, vendors, and all guests bear full responsibility for how they treat the space from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
- Leave the space in the same or better condition as you found it
- Book enough time to cover full set-up, production, and complete clean-up
- Report any accidental damage to the Host immediately
- Confirm which areas and equipment are included before using them
- Return all furniture and items to their original positions
- Follow all rules listed in the Host’s listing — including any crew size or noise limits
- Use equipment, rooms, or areas not included in your booking without permission
- Remain on the property past the end of your booked window without prior approval
- Bring more people than disclosed at the time of booking
- Copy, duplicate, or share any keys or access codes
- Take property that is not yours or remove any items from the space
- Attempt to conceal damage from the Host or Catalani Locations
The trust that makes this platform work depends on every member communicating truthfully — in listings, in messages, in booking requests, and in reviews. Misrepresentation of any kind undermines that trust and is a direct violation of these Guidelines and the Terms of Service.
- Accurately describe the nature, purpose, and scope of your production or event when booking. A music video shoot, a corporate event, and a private party have different implications for the Host — be clear.
- Do not misrepresent who you are, the organization you represent, or your level of experience.
- Do not open multiple accounts or impersonate another person, company, or brand.
- Do not post false, misleading, or retaliatory reviews. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience.
- Do not use Platform messaging to share personal contact information before a showing request has been accepted — this is both a security policy and a Terms of Service violation.
- Respond to messages in a timely, professional manner. Hosts who consistently fail to respond to inquiries risk listing suspension.
All bookings, payments, and financial agreements related to a location found on Catalani Locations must be processed through the Platform. This protects Hosts and Renters by ensuring payment security, documented booking terms, and access to Platform support.
- Do not share personal contact information in listing descriptions or Platform messages before a showing request is accepted.
- Do not solicit or accept direct payment from Renters outside of the Platform.
- Do not attempt to drive Renters to another booking platform or personal website.
- Do not conduct credit card fraud, booking fraud, or any other deceptive financial activity.
Productions, events, and gatherings affect more than just the people inside the space. Renters are responsible for the conduct of every cast member, crew member, vendor, and guest they bring to a location. Catalani Locations expects all members to be considerate of surrounding neighbors, common areas, and the broader community.
- Comply with all local noise ordinances and curfews
- Obtain all required permits before your booking date
- Carry production or event liability insurance where required or recommended
- Respect shared building spaces, elevators, and parking areas
- Inform the Host in advance of any special equipment, vehicles, or logistics
- Respond promptly to neighborhood or law enforcement concerns during your booking
- Create excessive noise, light, or disturbance beyond booked hours
- Block driveways, fire lanes, or access points for neighbors
- Conduct open-flame, pyrotechnic, or hazardous activities without explicit Host permission
- Disrespect or confront neighbors, building staff, or law enforcement
- Exceed the stated capacity of the space at any point during your booking
- Use the location for purposes that violate applicable law
Catalani Locations is committed to a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Discrimination of any kind — whether in listing terms, booking decisions, communications, or on-location conduct — is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
- Hosts may not decline a booking based on a Renter’s race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Renters may not harass, demean, or threaten any Host, Co-Host, Scout, or fellow community member based on any personal characteristic.
- Listing descriptions, house rules, and Platform communications must not contain language that is discriminatory, hateful, or exclusionary.
- If you believe you have experienced discrimination on the Platform, report it immediately to support@catalanilocations.com. We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly.
All content submitted to the Platform — listing photos, descriptions, reviews, messages, profile information, and any other materials — must meet the following standards.
- Relevant: Content must relate to the legitimate use of the Platform — listing a space, reviewing a booking experience, or communicating about a production.
- Accurate: Photos must represent the actual current state of the space. Descriptions must be truthful. Reviews must reflect a genuine booking experience.
- Appropriate: No explicit, violent, hateful, or sexually suggestive content. No content that demeans or targets any individual or group.
- Legal: Do not post content that infringes on copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights. Do not post another person’s personal information without their consent.
- No contact info in listings: Do not include personal phone numbers, email addresses, URLs to outside websites, or physical addresses in your listing description or photos. This information is released securely only after a showing request is accepted.
- No spam: Do not post promotional content, advertisements, or links to third-party services unrelated to the Platform.
