Referral Terms

To participate in the Referral Program as a referring member, you must have an active Catalani Locations account in good standing with no open violations of the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

For a referral to be valid, the referred person must:

• Be a brand new member — they must have never previously held a Catalani Locations account under any email address or identity.
• Sign up for a new account using your unique referral link. Sign-ups that do not use the referral link at the time of registration cannot be credited retroactively.
• Complete a qualifying action — a first booking (for Renters) or a first successfully completed booking on their listing (for Hosts) — within 90 days of signing up through your referral link.
• Have a booking with a subtotal greater than $150 (excluding Platform Fees, security deposits, and any promotional discounts).

What Are Credits

Referral credits are platform credits issued by Catalani Locations to eligible referring members upon completion of a qualifying referral. Credits are denominated in US dollars and applied as a discount against future bookings on the Platform.

How Credits Are Issued

• Renter referral credits are issued to the referring member after the new Renter’s first qualifying booking is completed — typically within 3–7 business days of booking completion.
• Host referral credits are issued after the new Host’s first booking is completed and any damage claims or disputes related to that booking are fully resolved.
• Welcome credits for new members (both Host and Renter) are applied automatically at checkout on their first qualifying booking. They do not need to do anything to claim them.

How to Use Credits

• Credits are applied at checkout by selecting “Apply Credits” on the payment page. The credit amount is deducted from your booking total.
• Credits may be applied to any booking on the Platform, including the Platform Fee, but may not exceed the total booking price for a single booking. Unused credits remain in your account for future bookings.
• Credits cannot be combined with certain promotional discounts. Where restrictions apply, this will be displayed at checkout.
• There is no limit to the number of members you can refer or the total credits you can earn, unless otherwise stated in an active promotion.

The Referral Program is intended to reward genuine community growth — real members bringing real new users to the Platform. Any attempt to game, manipulate, or abuse the program is a serious violation of these Terms and the broader Terms of Service.

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Referring yourself by creating a new account under a different name, email, or identity.
• Creating fictitious accounts or using bots, scripts, or automated tools to generate referrals.
• Making or facilitating fake bookings solely to trigger referral credit payouts.
• Posting your referral link in unsolicited mass emails, spam, or paid advertisements without Catalani Locations’ prior written consent.
• Misrepresenting the Referral Program or offering unauthorized incentives to encourage sign-ups.

Catalani Locations reserves the right to modify, pause, or permanently terminate the Referral Program at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. This includes the right to change reward amounts, eligibility requirements, qualifying booking thresholds, credit redemption rules, and program availability by region.

• The reward amount displayed in your account at the time a referred member signs up is the reward that applies to that referral — not any subsequently modified amount.
• If the Referral Program is terminated, members with accrued credits will have 30 days from the termination date to use those credits before they are forfeited.
• Referral credits that have already been issued and are in your account remain valid under the terms active at time of issuance, unless the program is terminated or your account is closed for cause.
• Catalani Locations is not liable for any loss resulting from changes to or termination of the Referral Program.

Referral credits issued as platform discounts are generally not treated as taxable income. However, if the total value of referral rewards you receive in a calendar year exceeds applicable tax reporting thresholds, Catalani Locations may be required to issue tax documentation and/or report the value to relevant tax authorities.

You are solely responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations arising from your participation in the Referral Program. Catalani Locations does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax advisor if you have questions about how referral rewards may affect your tax situation.
