How we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Catalani Locations platform.
Catalani Locations LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website and platform at catalanilocations.com (the “Site” or “Platform”). We are a location marketplace connecting Hosts, Renters, Co-Hosts, and Location Scouts for film, photography, events, and creative productions, based in Miami, Florida, USA.
This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use our Site or Platform. “Personal information” means any information that identifies or could reasonably identify you as an individual.
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Payments on the Platform are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store or have access to your full credit card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information. Stripe retains your payment data under their own privacy policy and terms. If you update your payment method, that change is processed entirely by Stripe.
- Log Data: When you visit the Site, our servers automatically record your IP address, browser type, browser version, pages visited, time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, and other usage statistics.
- Cookies and tracking technologies: We use cookies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the Site. See our Cookie Notice for full details.
- Analytics: We use services such as Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized data about how visitors use the Site. This helps us improve the Platform.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and browser information collected automatically when you access the Platform.
- Google Sign-In: If you use Google to create or log in to your account, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
- Stripe: Transaction confirmations, payout status, and payment method metadata.
- Social media: If you interact with our content on social media platforms, those platforms may share limited information with us in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and manage the Platform: Create and manage your account, process bookings and payments, facilitate communication between Hosts and Renters, and deliver all core Platform services.
- Honor service agreements: Fulfill any contract between us and you, including delivering services, providing customer support, and collecting any amounts owed.
- Identity verification: Verify your identity where required to protect Hosts, Renters, and the Platform from fraud and abuse.
- Release contact details securely: Your address and contact information are released to the other party only after a showing request is accepted or a booking is confirmed β never before.
- Communicate with you: Send booking confirmations, receipts, platform updates, policy changes, and support communications. These are not optional as they are necessary for the service.
- Marketing (opt-in only): If you opt in, we may send newsletters, promotional offers, and recommendations for listings or features relevant to you. You can unsubscribe at any time. See Section 7.
- Personalize your experience: Show you relevant listings, recommendations, and content based on your search history, booking preferences, and location.
- Develop and improve the Platform: Aggregate usage data (with all personal identifiers removed) is used to identify trends, fix issues, and build new features. No individual’s private information is used for this purpose.
- Safety and security: Authenticate users, detect and prevent fraud, investigate violations of our Terms of Service, respond to legal or government requests, and protect the security of the Platform and its users.
- Legal compliance: Maintain records required by law, respond to legal process, and enforce our agreements and policies.
Like most websites, our servers automatically collect Log Data when you visit the Site. This includes your IP address, browser type, browser version, pages viewed, time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, and other standard usage statistics. This data is used to maintain Platform security, diagnose technical issues, and improve performance. Log data is not linked to your personal account for advertising purposes.
We use cookies β small text files stored on your device β to provide a better experience on the Platform. Specific cookies we use include:
- Login cookies: Set when you log in; keep you authenticated for up to two weeks if you select “Remember Me,” or until your browser session ends otherwise.
- Preference cookies: Remember your display settings and preferences. Last up to one year.
- Comment cookies: If you leave a comment on the site, we save your name, email, and website in cookies for one year so you don’t have to re-enter them.
- Session test cookies: A temporary cookie set on the login page to check if your browser accepts cookies. Contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

We use third-party analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how users interact with the Platform. These services collect anonymized, aggregated data β such as which pages are visited most often, how long users stay, and where they came from. This data is used to improve the Platform and is not linked to your personal identity. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Pages on our Site may include embedded content from other websites β such as videos, maps, images, or social media posts. Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited that website directly.
These third-party websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking technologies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. If you have an account with that third-party website and are logged in, they may track your interaction with the embedded content and link it to your account with them.
Common sources of embedded content on our Platform include Google Maps, YouTube, and social media platforms. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties.
We send two types of email communications:
- Transactional emails β booking confirmations, receipts, showing request notifications, payout confirmations, platform policy updates, and security alerts. These are necessary to provide the service and cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active account.
- Marketing emails β newsletters, promotional offers, new feature announcements, and listing recommendations. These are only sent if you have opted in, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@catalanilocations.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- Active account data β retained for the duration of your account.
- Booking records β retained for a minimum of 7 years for financial and legal compliance purposes.
- Communications and messages β retained for the duration of your account and for a period after closure for dispute resolution.
- Log data β typically retained for 12 months, after which it is aggregated or deleted.
- Deleted accounts β upon account deletion, personal information is removed or anonymized within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@catalanilocations.com with “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line.
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
These measures include encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), secure password storage (hashed and salted), access controls limiting who within our organization can access personal data, and use of reputable third-party infrastructure providers.
The Catalani Locations Platform is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@catalanilocations.com and we will promptly delete that information.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time as our practices change, new features are added, or applicable law requires. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via a prominent notice on the Platform.
Your continued use of the Platform after any changes to this Notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
