Punit Shah Joins “ELON” Feature Film as Executive Producer and Investor
Tampa real estate developer and investor Punit Shah, CEO of Liberty Group and a minority owner of the Miami Marlins, has joined the feature film ELON as both an executive producer and investor.
The film follows the rise of Elon Musk during Tesla’s formative years, highlighting the challenges, risks, and entrepreneurial determination that helped transform the company into a global leader. The project is separate from the previously announced Elon Musk biopic and is expected to receive a limited theatrical release this fall.
In addition to his executive producer role, Shah also appears on screen portraying Elon Musk’s defense attorney. He said he was drawn to the project because of its focus on entrepreneurship and the determination required to build successful businesses despite uncertainty.
“I’ve spent my career building, buying and betting on businesses when the outcome was anything but certain. Elon’s story is the purest version of that — relentless drive and a willingness to risk everything on an idea the world had written off.”
The film is produced by Armando Gutierrez and also features Tampa entrepreneur Nick Friedman, co-founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk. Shah has previously invested in the feature films The Night Clerk and The Hating Game.
